Music of woven silk

Jarring notes give voice to my confusion
Is she really everything I have feared to believe in?
Then perhaps,to succumb would be common sin.
Or must I simply accept what is a foregone conclusion?

I trace the worry that consumes me in the creases
Of a face branded on the inside of mine eyes.
And suddenly, the question to exist, ceases-
This is no petty novel with its sighs!

I see that it's not merely her blood that, to me,
Sings. This -us- is written in the stars. As to
The end, there is no guarantee, nothing to foresee.
This once, to my incisive analysis, I shall bid adieu!

And in the baring of my teeth I feel her own smile
My fingers no longer hesitate;the notes, how they flow!
The tumbling overtones proclaim: 'My sweet Lily of the Nile
May the stars ever together our names, sew !'

Author notes

This is written from Edward's point of view, at the moment he makes up his mind to ' give up being good' and accept his future with Bella. The music he composes at this moment of utter peace is Bella's Lullaby.
(I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping you've read Twilight as I suspect this will make no sense otherwise!)

    Thank you very much.
I didn't intend for it to BE the lullaby, actually. It's the thoughts and the process that gave birth to it.I don't know if that's in keeping with your topic, though.Hmm..
    Anyway, thanks once again.

This is beautifully written and probably one of my favorite poems I've read on this site but it's not really what I was imagining. It's not something that I would want to be sung to sleep with. It's still BEAUTIFUL, though! Thank you for your entry, you have real talent!

I can be honest when saying that I am rarely left without words but i cant think of anything to describe how brilliant this is.

    How about that....Brilliant.
    Hm. Still feels insignificant.
Let me get back to you with a much broader vocabulary.
