It's been a bad day again
She thinks as she sits there
Lying to everyone telling everyone
That nothing was wrong,
She was fine. all she ever seemed
To do is disappoint everyone.
She couldn't cry let them see
What was truly going on.
It had been so long since
She had last given in to
Her crave for the blade.
She walked to her dresser
Opened the drawer
Pulled out the razor
Contemplated using it,
She was battling herself,
Unsure if she should give up
All the progress that she has made.
Just because he's a dick and he
Managed to get you to agree
And you don't go back on your word.
She's made up your mind
She's decided the progress was over,
She grabbed the blade, out of
Her dresser drawer,
She slides it across her wrist,
The blood begins to rapidly flow
Her years pain seeping through
The cloth placed on the cut.
For a few seconds she was okay
Because she was the one who,
Was now in control of her pain.
She didn't like to do this to herself.
She was ashamed, she knew this was wrong,
She was embarrassed to even discuss it.
She thought it was finally over.
She was done, she'd never hurt herself again.
Then he came along,he was so perfect.
He knew just what to tell her to make her break.
He was a jerk, he made her feel insecure.
Yet at the same time, he loved her,
That was more then anyone has given her
In quite a long time, she knew that
He only wanted to use her, and she let him.
SO IT IS HER FAULT.
And because it's her fault
She does what she deserves
She slides the blade across her wrist.
And watches the blood flow out.

Ouch!
It's so easy to blame yourself when other people use you; I've been there, and I've only recently forgiven myself for believing all the lies he told. But it's not your fault; you are a smart, talented young person with a lot to bring to the table, so don't let one selfish jerk ruin it for you. After all, it's he, not you, who has the problem.
As a psychology student, I just had to touch on this bit:
"She was ashamed, she knew this was wrong..."
Personally, I don't believe that cutting is wrong at all. There's obviously a reason that people do it, and even though we might not understand that reason, we have a declarative knowledge that it is a survival mechanism; not the most constructive one, but a survival-method nonetheless.
Thank you so much for entering, and good luck in the contest
Best wishes,
Laura
