Lovely Mum.

She is a lovely Mum,
Sometimes she goes all numb.
I hate it when  she has a hospital stay
Sometimes all we can do is pray.

I feel sorry for her
Because she is ill
She's having chemo
Which is a pill.

She is lovely because she hugs me tight
And kisses me when she tucks me in at night.

I cry 'cause she might die.

I help her by doing lots of things.
Soon, she might have wings.
But I don't want that day to come,
Because I really love my Mum.

Author notes

This is about my Mum.
I wrote it myself, my big sister Walking Oxymoron helped me with grammar.

(I chose to love my mum forever, and I'll remember loving her.)
She is in remission now.

I know what your going through and for someone of your age you have shown tremendous love and bravery in being able to write about it, your mum is so proud of you i know this because you can write beautifully and are obviously a very mature and compassionate person. What your mummy needs it support, and this is what you are giving her. I wish you and your mum all the happiness in the world and strength but i know you have this already.

If only the world had more people as loving as you
    take care
    stay strong

This poem is heartbreaking and so amazingly written, you are so talented for someone so young; no one your age should have to experience what you are. I wish your mum health, I would wish you strength as well, but you already are displaying so much more than I ever could. I am sure that your mum is very proud to have such a strong, talented and caring daughter. Once again this is an amazing poem, a wonderful expression of your love. I think I will be thinking of this poem for a long time to come, and like I said wishing your mum health.

    Tearful

Wow, right now, I'm shaken by how strong you're being for your mom, especially at such a young age, having to go through that. I've got tears in the corners of my eyes thinking about how it feels and remembering how I felt when I went through that with my dad. My prayers are with you and your family.

    Amazing

You have a gift, being able to let things out in this way. Not only does it give you chance to vent, but as you can see by all the wonderful comments there are people all round the world that can give you a shoulder to cry on should you need it because you were brave enough to share these feelings with them. You really are brave and talented, and i wish you all the best. I will pray for you, and ask my church to pray too. Much love and best wishes to you!
