Promises for hope and truth and justice
All seep from the larynx of the next influential serpent
Threatening to coil around our world
And suffocate our individual expectations and ideals.
The legerdemain of the script they decide upon
Can implement us all to give praise
To the man with the most slithery tongue.
What do they really have to say?
Nothing.
It all sprouts from the putrid abyssal depths of their souls.
Empty promises in a further void world.
To adhere to them is to adhere to the promises of a Benedict Arnold,
Worshipping the pagan gods in a stream of deception.
Once they win, once they claim command over our life, over our existence,
What will they do?
Nothing.
It was all an elaborate hoax, a vile misconception conceived
For a mere increase in the tabulation of the popular vote.
Well, I will have it no more.
I turn away from their lies, turn away from the political spectrum of atrociousness,
Turn away and let my life be governed by someone who will not betray –
Myself.
Author notes
Basically, I really dislike politics. I think they are all liars, and they will always be liars. The whole system of government as it stands today is a system build to be corrupted. It's just how it is. And how it always will be. Therefore... I try to ignore it as best I can.

While I don't agree completely with your author notes, I can understand the sentiment.
Thank you for your piece.
