Sitting there after school
Your head resting in my lap
I steal a glance at you
And hope nobody notices
You're about to break up
With your girlfriend of two years
It's impossible, but I can't help but think
That you're flirting with me
I've liked you for a while
And never said a thing
My feelings never voiced aloud
I only hope you feel the same
So there we sit
For two hours after school
Torture and bliss
Being so close, yet so far apart
Author notes
I know it's a few lines shorter than you wanted, but I don't think I should add another stanza.

This is so true with young love. They know what they want, but they just can't voice themselves. They sit back and hope that you feel the same about them and will confront them, so they don't have to confront you. Wonderful job and good luck in the contest!
