The Little White Trip by Peter Joseph Gallagher

The Little White Trip: A Night In the Pines by Peter Joseph Gallagher delivers on the promise in the title with panache; it's the best thing I've spent fifteen bucks on in a long time.

If you're into twisted tales, this is one you really won't want to miss. From page one, this book will mess with your head. There is an unexpected ending, which I won't even hint at here because I don't like spoilers. Suffice to say it took me completely by surprise, which is rather difficult to do as I tend to pick up on the slightest nuances and foreshadowing.

Gallagher's descriptions and dialog are equally realistic and engaging. Though I have several projects I am working on I couldn't NOT finish this book after I began reading it. I'd already eagerly torn through the homemade wrapping when it arrived since I wanted to see who the publisher was (Rey-Lay books of Long Beach, CA if you're curious- Peter and his wife run the outfit).

I closed the book excited and mentally invigorated, admiring the audacity it took to write such a mind-bending journey. It's been several months since I've read anything this well-written (and I read at least a book a week). I await his next work, knowing it will be just as unique and powerful to experience.
