unfulfilled desires of life spent;
emotions and feelings rise to give vent,
I waken to exhaustion!
I pray to understand my mind,
in daily grind I’ve not the time,
to delve into the heart of things,
that my spirit would give wings!
Subconscious wakens in my sleep,
to bring to mind the things I keep;
enclosed within the veils of ego,
all the places I’d rather not go!
Thoughts are energies that carry,
life to places where they marry,
fibers in our inner being,
places way beyond our seeing!
In our dreams they find release,
either in angst or sought for peace,
bringing threats or healing with them,
analysis can bring light and then…
We can process dark recesses,
looking at our deepest stresses;
prayerfully our voices raise,
dreamers who seek light of day!

Author notes
Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Yah is risen upon thee. {shine...: or, be enlightened; for thy light cometh}
Eph 5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. {reproved: or, discovered}
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and The Christ shall give thee light.
Joh 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. {reproved: or, discovered}
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in Elohim.
Ac 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith Elohim, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

I really like this. I absolutely love the rhyme scheme, and for some reason I adore:
We can process dark recesses,
looking at our deepest stresses
so much! The rhyme is great, and the poem is truly well expressed. This is one of my favorites by you, I think. Great job Kathleen! -

As being famously fascinated with dreams i find this engaging and smartly written...
How complex we all are...
taking in so much....
to sleep as child would be a blessing....
but to rise and to shine...
to shine a light on the day...
and all you meet....
to impact in a positive way....
even with all our own foibles...
even with all the weight we carry every day....
the weight we take to our slumber...
the worry and concern for our destiny...
to rise and shine....
shine on someone who has less...
shine on someone who is sad and lonely...
rise to that....
then we may all sleep better.
Great write,
made me ponder a great deal,
Liam

Super write. This dealt with an issue that people have so long puzzled over. A way to deal with all the goings on of the day, or a deeper core meaning, trying to get the dreamer to deal with an issue they keep avoiding. Perhaps a message for the future. The great spirit does move in mysterious way and whether we understand the messages sent to us, we always seem able to deal with them subconsciously. Your write was wonderful with great flow, rhythm, and rhyme and i enjoyed it very much indeed. Thank you for the read.

Precisely true. I like how this you link the ethereal and the physical (technically) with the 'fibre in our inner being'. Beautifully controlled. The rhyme really works.

A very powerful and moving work this one. I appreciate that the inspiration was from Christian scripture, while it does give it added depth, it stands alone quite well. I tend to write about my dreams,(nightmares), quite a bit in the context of my postings, I very much enjoyed this.
Peace be with you

The flow of this was much the same as a gentle water fall as your words cascaded from verse to verse. explaining the inner workings of a mine that seeks another source input from a guide. Very nicely done calming and tranquil amidst the confusion of the mind...

There is a Divine Plan, often mocked out of sheer ignorance, that is the strategy in the universal war - the war of the heavens - that is taking place. Any desire or hope embraced out of not being aware of the existence of such a plan, may obstruct it. Life on earth is merely a tiny fragment of a vast encompassing whole and focusing on details without attempting to see the bigger picture tends to persuade the observer to act in a way that does not contribute to the execution of the Divine Plan. Since it was designed by divinity it will unfold in the way intended on the time it was meant to be extended. Regardless of what we think, say or do. But it does not mean that whatever we do, is without meaning. Our choices matter, because inside each fragment the whole is contained. I guess this principle is too far out for may to grasp, but understanding the ways of divinity is quite beyond the ability of mortal souls. Thank you for creating and sharing.

it blew me away.lol
your poem is intriguing; the background is gorgeous. you are so right, dreams are the realm of our life where we are only able to really deal with our issues. your poem is beautiful. -
The poem is a sort of self examination and philisophical inquery, informed by Scripture... nicely and very deftly done throughout. bravo...
