Decorated with beads,
basket headdresses
adorn women
carrying papooses.
Fingers construct
feather
dream catchers.
Author notes
The Septolet is a poem consisting of seven lines containing fourteen words with a break in between the two parts. Both parts deal with the same thought and create a picture.
In California and the Plateau tribes, basket hats were normally worn only by women and girls, and their designs were mostly decorative.

Thank you for your entry
Well this showcases the importance of women in the tribe in so few words. I like it. The imagery is well developed as well. I can see them sitting around their fires tending to the children and making the dream catchers as well as moving about back and forth to the creek for water.
The form was followed perfectly, line and word count right on. Flow and structure well done and the imagery well developed.
I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.
God Bless
Tammy
