Held By Regret

Weathered hearts sift through
grains of time,
tides wash upon chilled souls
cutting open old wounds,

deep sorrow of profound empathy,
reaching through the waters
to turn back moments,
where words can be whispered
with hope in mind, "please don't go".

Very well done. Capturing the prompt with precise emotion and sorrow. One often holds those past regrets close, thinking how things could have been different eith the right words. Congratulations on the well earned SIlver sweetheart.

Tears rise in my eyes when I read this, for so many experiences in my own life lately have warrented the screaming of those words, yet there is silence. Best to you in the contest
