My Shopping Cart

Sincerity’s phantasm prorogated by pursed lips,
duality in essence so sublime,
the revolving door of my soul
leading to a panoply of portals,
all masked as reason’s ruse
so one will ever know
if my practical bin of prevarication’s perils
possesses lucre or litter.

I’ll go looking for bargains in another’s mind,
probing the cerebral china,
careful to fill my cart with the chards of thought,
but never confessing if my pilfering
was plunder or souvenir.

How sweet the effulgence effigies
gleamed by cunning and craft,
horded in a repository
where the treasures can be defined
by a plethora of possibilities.

For greed is so heavenly
when its snare can appear as halo
even though a noose.

And who shall lift the façade
from my lair of deified depravity?

Since after all,
shopping is essential to survival,
which blesses both the thief and saint.

Your artful articulation is impressive in this well rounded piece.
Clever turn of a title also.
