My Heart

My new heart beats
I can feel every small contraction
Its so different from my old one

I used to have a bad heart
That made me sick
That kept me in bed for weeks

I could never be normal
My heart would give out
And my life would be put on hold

It seemed like everytime I was close
To a goal
Everything would change

My lips would go blue
My nails would follow
I'd gasp for breathe

Constant hospitalizations
Constant pain

My parents would cry
We were all scared
Until I met you

You were a janitor inthe hospital
You talked to me
Made me fell special

My parents didn't approve
But we loved eachother

You and I planned a future
Even though I didn't have one
