Soft
The melody plays through my ears
The sweetest sound I have ever heard
To this day
It chills me to the bone
I’ve become so accustomed to hearing it…
That when I speak, my words are the same
Sentences, words, letters…
All of them come together
They form one solid idea
One thing
And that thing is multiplied
And it becomes plural
And then they extend in all directions
But to me they sound so charming
Nothing but comes to my ears
Lies
They form a wonderful echo
A cushion for my mind
Nothing else can penetrate
Nothing but your affection
I know you’re not lying…
Something tells me
That your words are true
Maybe it’s your smile…
Or maybe it’s your tone?
Something enchants me
And wraps me around your delicate fingers
You can bend me this way
And that way
And I’d still keep my shape
But if it were to be a façade
If you were not my love
And I not yours…
What would happen to me?
Would you want to see me fall?
Would you leak artificial tears?
And try to see if I’d retract my broken disposition?
And I‘d be whole again?
Just to do your bidding and please you?
Not likely
Not likely at all
If you plan on robbing me
Of my choices;
Of my right
To commit action of my own free will
Then you will not succeed
So don’t even try it
Don’t even try to tamper with me
