Lost

Sometimes in the evening light
He moves like a shadow on the land

Trying to find the things now lost
In this place he does not understand

Dreamless nights spent in search
Of times that have vanished in the mist

Dreams of the home with his lost tribe
And the magic of a family's gift

Forever wandering upon the trails
Under a moon of yellow light

Listening for the sound of crystal waters
As a lost panther vanishes from sight

Out of time and out of place
He longs to find his vanished home

Fighting a never ending war now lost
In this place where he stands alone

So say a prayer to the old gods
For this lost warriors soul

May he find his way home soon
Where the crystal waters flow

Please tell me what you think

    Touches The Heart

Oh John, your words flow so beautifully to tell a sad tale. The warrior must never give up hope. The sun will rise and he will smile again in its warmth and the sound of crystal waters will always be there to calm his soul in the night.
I so enjoyed this write. Rhyme and flow as always were perfect! Brought a smile my friend. Have a beautiful day. Hugs and Smiles.

    Peace and Grace. Sandy

A softly sad pensive write! I think we all search for what we have lost along the journey of life!
