Winter Conversation

Ah, I love this winter weather;
The ground's covered in virgin white.
Sputtering fire talks to me
My teeth chatter back in the night.

      Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I enjoy the winter months. I have only spent one christmas without snow, and even then it stormed the next day. We have had two snowfalls this year already and it is expected to snow tonight.

    In its brevity this short poem considers the complexity of our reaction to the season. We are of two minds toward it, and so we have this conversation between our two selves, even as the body chatters with the fire which sputters at the cold.

    I like this poem; it's cute and clever, and I think it fits the type of poem really well. I think I'll go and get my jumper now ... lol

    chatter.
    no kidding.
    woodchuck, get you some more wood honey, the winter's coming, and you're already cold. Should we know to look for your frozen remains?
    LOL
    Before Christmas?
    I shouldn't speak this way, we get the cold here too. Never as cold as you do, but enough to get me to chattering, right?
    LOL

      The day that I wrote this we had 5 inches of snow on the ground. Then, it warmed up. Don't bother looking for my remains, the wildlife will have me well picked over.

      Thanks for reading and leaving a comment. It is 1 degree C here now and will get down to about 20 degrees F tonite. Not sure what that is in celcius, except below zero. I still have snow on the ground from the last snow storm.
