He Called Her Beautiful

Silly though it seems
His eyes half-closed
Placing ever carefully
The unspoken bandaid on her finger

please tell me I didn't just write this

  • I like it! It makes me want to be the guy to put that bandaid on that special girl's finger. Very good, very good indeed!

    Sweetness Incarnate!!!

ya know.. the thing about poetry is, once you start.. you cant stop... so you need to post 2 more today..... but if you dont.. thats ok.. cuz i can just keep reading this for weeks and weeks and i dont think i'll get tired of it... ive already read it like 10 times.

My favorite line is 'eyes half-closed' .... it doesnt seem to say very much.. but to me it seems to the key phrase of the whole thing... .. but thats just me.. and im wierd..

    this one was crazy awesome....

where do you come up with stuff like this??????? it awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Thanks for the comment

You have me smiling all big now geesh! You really do crack me up. I can't believe you read it so many times. . .very flattering. . .

Where do I come up with it?. . .the oddest places

Oh yeah and don't forget it's your turn to write now.

Oh and I don't know if you noticed but the commenter below you has a hint of a resemblance to you in some way that I can't quite figure out since you have such dark hair and pale skin compared to her. . .but maybe you two were twins in a past life or something? I don't know maybe it's just me???

wooow Liz. When I said write a poem I was expecting a long poem! At first I didn't really get it, then I read going nowhere's comment. Now it makes sense. (Im still waking up) very "deep". But you still have to keep writing!

THIS is SOOOO sweet... and you thought you were searching for it

to have someone take the time to care about the tiniest things.... or what may seem silly, is incredibly wonderful. someone to know what makes you happy, sad, what hurts and when to put the bandaid on....

i can picture so easily, him... as his eyes are half closed, but not from tiredness... from the fact that he loves her... that he looks at her with such love that he gently wants to help and patch any wounds she may have...

the unspoken bandaid to me is that look itself that just sends out love from his eyes showing what he olds in his heart for her... and what she needs to know when she is hurting.

ok.. i know i overanalyze.. sometimes.. sometimes not enough.

i wonder if i'll ever be able to leave a comment that is just.. great poem!

      whoa what a comment!

I really liked your prompt even though the contest was over.

This comment was amazing. . .worth so much more than the poem itself. You are so generous with your comments. . .how do you do it? It must be who you are I always love the analysis. . . it is so fun to read and many many times I am shocked how well you understand what to me seems too criptic or vague to understand by anyone else. I can't get over it. Makes me want to write poems just to read your comments!!!!

      Thanks.
