Mother's Tale

As I leap forth to the sky
I let loose a cry of despair filled rage
Black leathery wings spread in glorious display
A monstrous sight to behold am I

Fire to wield at my command
With which to lay waste
Teeth long needle sharp pikes
To stab, slash and bite

Razor sharp talons to pierce
Any prey that I desire
Covered in scaly black armour
No mortal could ever breach

Spiked horns on my head
With which I will run through
Deadly spade on my tail
To crush those who attack from behind

As I scream to induce terror in their souls
Raining fire down on young and old
Burning their houses and crops to the ground
Killing the stock, devastating the village

Vengeance I will reap upon them
For my children they did kill
Resting in their eggs not yet hatched
Murdering my babes in their sleep

Never hunting them like cattle
Content to leave the village in peace
I allowed the villagers to live
This is how I was repaid

Now their lives I will take
I fly sure, swift and determined
Not one lethal human shall remain
No murderous soul will I leave in my wake

The villagers children becoming mine
Killing any who stand in my way
They will replace what should have been
But also what never will be

My revenge I will gladly satisfy
No more of my children shall die
Though nothing will ever fill the void
Where my heart should be

Humans have NO idea that if they just trust in Dragons then they will be ok...they believe that Dragons are creatures to fear...this is true only when the Dragon is enraged or in fear of its life...
This is a very good poem...it shows the fact that Dragons can be very destructive at times...

    WOW!

You are becoming quite the serious poet. I'm impressed with the creativity that took flight on draconic wings in this poem. Not a warm and fuzzy Puff the Magic dragon that I fancy yet definite signs of a gifted and talented writer. Pen on... pen on... "To be original... be yourself." Carry on where ever your inspiration leads you whether on draconic wings or angelic wings. Your passion burns strong in this piece as a true poet of your own right.
