I remember when
my lips were useless
and the first time itself
tasted unprepared.
All those burning glances
heavy with apprehension
flooded over me,
were in
my very skin.
I use to know
what it took to be hollow,
to be a little less than remembered.
But now,
I'm like any stale moon
that has pulled itself from sleep,
minutes too late
and left lonely
in an atmosphere
of lust
and lungs.
