I remember when
Memories weren’t quite so potent,
Moments were simply for now
And tomorrow was years away.
I remember when
Love was something foreign
A foreign language to be learned
Not a skill to be mastered.
It was a time of innocence and chaos
Of true love found
And then subsequently lost.
It was a place of friends
……and definitely enemies.
A place of laughter and light
Disregard, madness, mayhem,
--only to finally give in…
To now and form, structure
And organize.
Yesterday was the only day
We wanted in our lives.
To live and to laugh--
Lost on lost dreams.
I remember when
We thought we could win.
The world did laugh
At our antics and tricks.
We would get by—
On antics and tricks.
I remember when
The world was ours
We didn’t spend each day
Counting eight hours.

Completly different from your usual but very well written still. I love it, it shows a since of longing, remberance. Also you didnt rhyme all the time but it still flowed extreamly well. great write.
