I remember when the wind rushed through my hair
And the day the sun kissed my face
Your hand on my thigh, and your smile in the rear view mirror
The dice bouncing against one another like the fate of our lives we juggled so carelessly
Blurred images of the world around us, flying by like paint spilled across an empty canvas
I lit a smoke, and you honked the horn
Both of us laughing into the face of humanity
Into the face of reason
Embracing the freedom of youth
Sparkles shined off the hood on a fresh baby blue coat of metallic beauty
Roaring 90 in a 45
Elevating boundless warm exhilaration rushing through my blood
Felt like it was pumped from your heart to mine
The bright white of your teeth, shining in the blinding sun
Deep worship in your eyes, looking into my soul
heavy metal music blared from the speakers
while I watched the clouds drifting above our heads
I never saw the hand of god reaching out for us
But I watched him take you
The crash of metals, and scrapping of machines
Squeal of tires, smell of burning rubber up my nose
Our screams drowning the sounds of engines screeching
Spinning in a death trap of confusion and peril
Weeping hysterically I called your name
And was answered with an eerie silence…
and a pool of blood
My soul dies a little each time I remember
Your smile…
Your voice…
Your eyes…
Each time
I remember when you died.
