An interesting take. I know you are up against the word count, but the last line really does need a 'to' between the 'only' and the 'i'.

A Fantastic write on your chosen prompt. Is it destiny when time or distance cannot keep people apart? 20 years plus passed between my high shool sweatheart and I now married 15 years.
