where mermaids go to die

Long, the blue steps.

Lulling, rolling,
beneath swaying
depths.

Whispered moonbeams
dancing

within
entrapment's eyes.

Her breath,
my dream, arises,

flowing
elegantly upward
in swelling ascent.

A voice,

once pearled rainbows

in soothing echoes,
shell-songs
beyond long green reefs;

she

awaits the moon.

Here
mingle sea smoke rumors.
And fusions,

spirit water-graced
ancient golden light
pressed clear bright,

her life

dissolves.

So,

I kneel,
drink my fill;
where mermaids

go to die.

    so sad but I am attracted to the sad enchantment of the mermaid - This border is lovely, too.

    Happy Holidays to you, Richard!

    Breathless

    Wow!!! For a moment I was lying on a beach covered in sea shells, swept there by white crashing waves and moonbeams. This was completely enchanting. I was engaged by your words. This took me to another place if just for a few moments. Your talent never fails to amaze me.
    Bravo!!!
