Every year this same routine
A pretty costume deserves to be seen
Going to the doors of strangers houses
Seeing the same women with tacky Halloween blouses
Yet somehow this is not the same
Its starting become a pain
Is this because I’m growing up
or is it some strange form bad luck
I’ll keep quiet for little sister
As I hear her cute voice saying “excuse me mister”
We have enough sweets to stash away
Keep them for a rainy day
Later on I talk to my mother
she explains that the same thing happened to my brother
You grow out of some things like you grow out of the costumes
Does this mean my future holidays are going to be doomed?

Getting all dressed for halloween does get to be a production at times doesn't it? I really enjoyed reading this, it's different and I like that
