No More Years
It's been a long eight years,
I've never had a longer lasting pain.
The worst part is, I can't voice an opinion.
I'm seventeen, I know what I'm thinking.
I want to vote.
I gotta end this plague on the world
No more years!
The violence is overwhelming
We have no bridges left to burn
We need peace, not more war.
No more years!
This is why people should vote,
To do what they believe is right.
I don't want any more years of violence
Do you want to see more children die?
No more years of plutocracy.
We take profits over lives
And look what happened
Our economy is dying.
Vote to end the murder
Vote to voice protest
For civility.
Vote for no more years
Of immorality.
Author notes
I did not sit on a pumpkin pie. Except that ONE time.

I was 17 when the election happened and it pained me so much that I did not get to vote. Powerful poem. I really liked it x

I am in total agreement, though maybe there could be more detail to this piece?
