That's What It Felt Like Then

The heat, it clogs my airways,
I feel like I'll die again.
The flames lick at my skin,
Leaving blisters with their touch.
The sky is black,
There is no hope for me or you.
The ground is bright,
Welcoming us with dancing fire.
And at first we ran to it,
We ran to it to embrace it,
But we hate it now.
We curse Hells name.
Why? Why did we want this?
As much as I hate to admit it,
I know why.
We ran to Hell because we thought it was the only thing for us,
That even if we tried our best, Heaven would reject us.
That's what it felt like then,
And that is the truth now.
Forever shall we stay in this firey tomb.

Author notes

Umm...I'm not sure if firey is spelled right or if it's even a word, but yeah...

Sad write but very well worded indeed

Often we choose the wrong direction the wrong friends to be able to see heaven within our reach . Afraid to be ourselves in this day and time yet being yourself is the only way to find the happiness you seek . There will always be those who ridicule and make fun of otherss .Sad it is but to be yourself and know no one can take that away and know you only know what makes you the happiest so never leave yourself behind trying to follow the in crowd .

great imigary, a very interesting poem to read
i love this line "The flames lick at my skin" gives a really good feel to the poem and builds to this dark image portrayed by the poem its self. also "Forever shall we stay in this firey tomb." is a brilliant line!

    very good poem indeed
