Dependency

Her loneliness

fell through the holes,

as she searched for

just a breath of warmth.

Pennies from heaven

were scarce these days.

Everyone knew her too well,

begging on the same corner,

to feed her habit.

    Poet

That habit. How very hard to break they say. And pennies from heavy can never lighten that load until their last overdose. Such reality in your poem and so sad.
