the day prince charming forgot to save cinderella....

You write such pretty words doll but life isn't a storybook ...
if it was, you'd be my prince charming,
(and I, the Catastrophic Cinderella, igniting your dreams on fire)
just like you did to mine.

She, just like the wicked stepmother,
fooled you with her decisive lies and clever charm into fa.
                                                                                          fa.
                                                                                            falling.
                                                                                                down.
She's just a half cent copy-cat of me
(I thought you knew me better than that)
with her twisted lips an poison love spell
pretending to be everything she's not.

So now, I lie here;
my lips sewn shut.
they say that only true love's first kiss breaks the spell
[you must have wasted it all on her.]

my pumpkin never became a carriage,
my rags never became a beautiful dress;
all i have left is a knife and a broken heart with a mess.

[life is just a tragic story].

      Thats what I was going for. I was trying to encorperate my name into the poem and fairytales are so beautiful, but what happens if something alters the whole story line? I was thinking about that when I was writing this.....

    This is so full of pain and sadness, I loved the ideas you put forward in this piece, so full of sorrow and despair, but beautiful all the same, great work and good luck in the contest x

    "all i have left is a knife and a broken heart with a mess."

    I hate it when people refer to knifes as cutting themselves, but you've found a better way to connect it with heart ache. beautiful and sad...

      With that phrase, I was attempting to show her as a martyr for all of those who have lost a love; especially those who have been cheated on..... Thank you for your comment
