Children on a sugar rush,
Prancing in the streets,
Monsters hiding in trees and brush,
Kids collecting poisoned treats,
Toddlers with tooth decay,
And under dressed teens,
Running through downtown astray,
All oblivious to leafy greens,
A healthy diet is long forgotten,
Trips to the dentist soon and near,
Mouths full of teeth gone rotten,
Kids' hearts full of fear,
All that is left from All Hallows Eve,
Is garbage, crime,
Parents taking Alieve,
And roads full of grime,
Youth is corrupted,
By this horrible day,
A school week is interrupted,
Grades drop below okay,
So boycott this day of the year,
Save children and teens,
They should hold their families dear,
And wipe this holiday from the genes...

A cute piece. I think the problem with the holiday is that it's lost tradition. It's turned into a candy fest and gore night instead. I really enjoyed reading your poem. Good job.

A little harsh,
But I agree, Kids on a sugar rush, I remember that.
