First day of school
Want to fit in
See all these people
where to begin?
The little boy in the hat
or the girl with barbie
the group playing hopscotch
All so far from me
I need to make friends
i smile and wave
i know my mother
taught me how to behave
i wander on up
to the girl with the doll
will she smile back
or will my welcome take a toll
She smiled brightly
in response to my hello
she shows me her toy
with its dress a bright yellow
at that moment we join hands
right there and then
from the beginning
we were the best of friends
We've grown up together
we laughed late at night
we stood up for eachother
in each single fight
We've seen eachother
through everything
bad dates, tough homework
even learning to sing
Your family is mine
and mine is yours too
there is no other person
there is no one like you
We cried on each other shoulders
we held hands in tough times
I am your best friend
and i know you are mine.
And as time goes on
far into the sunset
you're the best friend
I know i'll ever get
Author notes
Not exactally how it began, but same sort of thing.

I liked this especially the beginning. I love kids and those first lines made me feel I was a teacher watching the kids in the playground.

Friendship is good.
