"He did that.
She said this.
OH MY GOSH!
Did they really kiss?"
Gossip is a skill,
and I have to admit,
you've had a lot of practice,
and you're not that bad at it.
"They caught him smoking.
He carried her books?!?
There's a party on Saturday.
They're only dating 'cause of looks."
Gossip is a drug,
and you're a drop hard addict.
You can try to give it up,
but then you're right back at it.
"They broke up.
They got together.
He got expelled.
They've been fighting forever."
Gossip is a disease,
and once you have it,
you'll try to shake it off,
but, too bad, it's like static.
"You can't tell her anything
unless you want it spread around.
My advice is, when you're with her,
don't make a sound."

Author notes
I HATE GOSSIP!!! I try my hardest not to spread it, and usually I don't. But there are some girls [[and guys]] that just spread everything they can and don't care who it hurts.

all i can say is i love it..im completley speechless...i love it. its the truth

Gossip is a contagious disease. It is so easy to catch it. I also hate gossip, it is lame and people who are unqualified and insufficient tend to gossip the most just to feel like they are part of something important or top secret. Thanks for entering.

This poem was very truthful, to the point where if I were one of the people you speak of, I think I would get the message. I even know some girls who love gossip BECAUSE it destroys people. I totally agree and know where you are ccoming from. Great analogies and metaphors in the 4th and 6th stanzas - they add character to the poem.
Luv,

I like this poem because it highlights another form of addiction. I detest "gossip" as well. I like the rhyme scheme here and the smack me in the face reality of your words. Very simply written but tactful, and filled with truth! Glad to see that someone else understands the nature of addiction. Well written. Thank you for this entry and I wish you well in the challenge.
Much Love & Respect ♥

This poem clearly states why gossip is so hateful. As a high school teacher I have seen shy students, awkward students and unusual students destroyed by malicious gossip. I look forward to reading your entry in the next round. Peace, Liz

gossip indeed is hurtful and spreads really fast. I find it best to not only keep quiet when I hear it, stop it in its tracks. Good message told with great rhyme and flow. thank you for entering

You make a great point in end line rhyme and fluent flow. Excellent. ~Pamela

Good work on putting down what you feel in a way like this. I like the style, although a bit repetitive, it get the message across and hits in dead on. good work, good luck when judging time rolls around.

It's certainly hard to shake. But sometimes one does have to be discreet and keep a confidence. If only occasionally.
I enjoyed your lighthearted write.

Nice.
Yes, I agree, Gossip is destructive, but can be so useful in the right situations. It's a dangerous, but undeniably wonderful tool. I liked this, it flowed decently and it made me grin. -
-
just out of curiosity, what situation did/do you have in mind in which gossip would be useful and wonderful?

I like this. I agree with this. Gossip is so hurtful. Most of the gossips I know, have been that way forever. You are right, it is best to avoid them if possible. I wrote something about gossips It is called ambulance chasers if you ever have time and want to take a look. Good Job!
