The water bellows out the contents of my body
in radiating parachute-shaped circles.
There’s nothing here to touch, no bones
sticking through that I could clasp,
no sly cuts, rough, no scars. Just flesh
and more flesh, flesh you can push in
as far as you like but will still never
go anywhere.
So that you doubt whether
there is anything inside it – it could be
just an overblown pouch, padded thick
with bubblewrap and polystyrene
to protect the delicate insides
that aren’t really there at all.

friggin brilliant ...
it could be
just an overblown pouch, padded thick
with bubblewrap and polystyrene
to protect the oh-so-delicate contents
that aren’t really there at all. ...
that is just how i feel most of the time ... good to see that someone could put words to it ...
