Be(lie)ve Me

Why wouldn't you tell me?
Why would you lie?
Finding out the way I did,
I feel like I've died.
Every minute of every day
I think only to make you smile.
To pull back your lips and shine,
that smile makes it all worthwhile.

Yet here I sit, mind unfit
cursing that I doubt.
Looked in my eyes, told me lies,
hoping I wouldn't find out?
Braved distance, cold; for you to hold
and see the surprise on your face.

......

Consumed by confusion; await a conclusion,
my heart still continues to waste.

How did I do?

Very good. I presume you're aware of Fall Out Boy song Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the year?

I wasn't sure at first...but your second and third stanzas were really good. I think if you put in some work on the first one, maybe it would flow better. But other than that, I thought you did a good job

The last two lines = fucking ace

Can't say I've heard those two, though I enjoy most of Fall Out Boy's work. Glad you like the last two lines, I usually try to make my works' endings have the strongest effect to leave a more lasting impression.

        It's only one song actually

Oh, well that makes your title even better then.

There is a line in it that goes "The best part of believe is the lie"
