Laugh At Me

Laugh at me for every time I fall,
Laugh at me for losing it when I had it all.
Laugh at me for stupidly giving up my space,
Laugh at me for falling out of place.

Laugh at me for not being able to hold on,
Laugh at me for making everything go wrong.
Laugh at me for not even being able to save myself,
Laugh at me for making you into a memory left forever on the shelf.

Laugh at me for letting go and giving up too soon,
Laugh at me for thinking I could get father than the moon.
Laugh at me for believing there were promises I could keep,
Laugh at me for failing at everything, and letting myself so easily weep.

Laugh at me for the pain I inflict upon myself when everything else is gone,
Laugh at me for falling down so quickly, for not being able to be strong.
Laugh at me for backing out when times get rather shitty,
Laugh at me for begging you not to show me any pitty.

Laugh at me for being stupid and foolish, and watching you go.
Laugh at me for hoping there were truths I'd never have to know.
Laugh at me for trying to escape right after claiming that I liked her,
Laugh at me for not being able to help, for being such a hopeless monster.

Laugh at me for everything,
For being so pitiful, such a mistake.
Pity me not for anything,
For it's something I never wish to take.

Regardless of who we are, or where we're at,
Say all you will do is laugh at me.
I'd rather deal with your hate, than with my own anger and pain,
But, Darling, please -show me no pity.

Author notes

Bleh. Just a little something I cooked up after a hopeless conversation with Tiger. It seems nothing can get her to smile, so I guess this is my take on it from her eyes...

And the farther than the moon line refers to a book I'm reading called "The Center of the World" by Andreas Steinhofel. In the book, one of the flashbacks the main character Phil, as a child, believes that nothing is farther away than the moon. So it's referring to going far in life, saying she thought she could go farther, but failed in that aspect.

  • Staggeringly perfect!

I stumbled upon this poem by accident. It' now one of my favorites. I can just relate to it so well! It's amazing.

Pure brilliance tied together with attitude and a bit of possible self-loathing snd heartbreak. Even love?

I can't seem to properly express how much I adore this poem.
