Nantucket saw whaling’s big time;
behemoths brought profits sublime –
Now dotty old Jim
(an escapee from NIMH),
still reels them in daily…in mime!
Author notes
dotty: crazy or eccentric
NIMH: National Institute of Mental Health
Nantucket island was the whaling capital of the world from the mid-1700s to the late 1830s

As a big fan of rodents, and in particular the great Mrs Frisby, as well as of Robert C. O'Brien, I am completely on the same page.Also, once the whaling was gone from the area (or as good as) there wasn't really much attraction to the area. In fact, the only reason I ever went there was this little thing I read one day. Something about a guy from Nantucket... Great entry, and best of luck to you.

BOOM BOOM!
I got DQ'd from this contest.
I like this. I recall that the owners of whalers were the old-time Quaker families. I like to think of them being questioned by God, as Job was:
"Canst thou draw out Leviathan with an hook?"
"Yes, friend; it is my trade!"
Good luck.
