Not sure
how much is
a farmer paid
for his beef,
his chickens,
his milk
per gallon, per pound?

Overhead cost
for farming?

Or the broccoli,
and potato growers
of the North
in Maine?

Seems to me
the middle men
make all the money.

Raising the price
to the stores
so five per pound
or more.

If boat price goes
any lower what's the sense?

I don't think it's ever been
much more then three per pound
along the shore.

Fishing is hard, dangerous work
waters rush a guy over board.

Ten minutes tops
a winter surviver
might as well let boots
fill up
sink.

Forty five
a possibilty a summer
to survive.

At a dollar ninety per pound
might as well tie up
it's not worth a life.

Go grow potato's
it's alot safer to stumble
with sea legs in dirt.

Eat Lobster  (yum)

Author notes

A dying breed the lobsterman. When their gone I'll still be able to eat lobster as they will crawl up on the shores like in the old days. Won't that be fun? Did you all know lobster used to be a poor mans food? Servants used to be fed lobster and it was made into law that they could only be served lobster twice a week. Oh... I feel so bad for them. Hahahaha... If I could go back it would be as a servant. Hahahaha... and ask for more. those rich ol'farts missed out! As a kid i once found a frozen scallop with an 18" diameter shell. The meat was big enough for a stew. I so... love the coast.
