Promise Forever

Gentle eyes of greeting
Calm a restless heart
While a voice that sounds so pleading
Conveys desiring love from afar

The comfort in the words
The inspiration from within
Consoles my weary soul
And provides peace, yet again

Wishes, dreams, and prayers
Together make a promise
Of the day our souls will join
And celebrate the fate upon us

I’m certain of this if nothing else
That we shall be together
Oh how can one be sure?
A promise is forever.

The frailty of a promise is what makes it precious ...if forever was rock-solid, we'd take it for granted.

    Lovely work, lady.
