Curl up next to a window to bask in morning sun. make those green eyes shine yellow in the light of wisdom. Detect that hint of sadness in me, and with those eyes that question why, tell me everything I feel could be a lie. A mass of colored fur on my lap, perked up ears as sound waves rip, and a cute hint of playful high at the heightened scent of cat nip. Slinking around with graceful moves, no one can ever tell you what to do. Independence is key, at least to me, and that’s why your eyes can always see whatever it is I’m trying to be. Those cat eyes are seductive and intricate and I’d give anything to see the side of you behind all of it. Lust is always related to your kind and no one can ever read your mind. You leave your mark on all who do you wrong; even unintentional, their suffering is long like the cat scratch cuts you leave behind with your claws. You cry if not fed and you mess with my head- should I leave you to be or am I supposed to show you affection? You can read my eyes, but you hide behind yours, and it always leaves me wanting to know more. Your mystery kills me and your laziness too; let me in on the secret, it’s the least you can do. Your bothersome nature always gets in my way, and I wonder about your purpose everyday. You multiply like flies right before my eyes, there’s more and more of you and I don’t know why. That hissing noise you make breaks my heart and my ears, I’d hope you might learn after all of these years that I only want your friendship and your comfort as well, but instead you but me through this obnoxious hell. But even worse will be when you die. Because then there will be no light in your eyes; and no purring cat at my side when I cry. If I ever said I hated you, please know that I lied.
