The Wonderful Gift Of Motherhood

What a wonderful gift it is to be a mother,
To love unconditionally,
To give selflessly,
But sometimes,
Especially at the end of a long, hard day
The joy of motherhood passes
For a brief few minutes as the tiredness ensues
As the anger lingers,
As your child moans, complains and generally gets on your nerves
You feel like your head could explode
You feel for a moment as though you want the world to go away,
You try harder than ever to keep your patience,
Inside you pray and pray.
You wish you could put your child to bed,
You crave bedtime,
But then you see your child smile
And it all seems worthwhile.
In that one smile all your anger
Goes away,
All your frustration,
Stress and you pray.

Thanking God for the wonderful gift of motherhood,
As your child sleeps
You watch over them and thank God
For giving you the most wonderful gift in the world.
God's wonderful miracle
That only God could create,
Everything makes sense
Everything you hate.

For once you feel like a worthwhile person,
Someone who has done some good in this life,
Someone who has contributed to the human race.

Being a mother is a wonderful gift.
