The loneliness has consumed me
and turned me into this shadow,
some echo of what I once was
when I was loved.
And I fed on my own remorse,
on my own deep need for pain
until there was nothing left
but the light.
So now I am starving
left without nourishment
for I refuse to take the light.
This is how even a shadow
can be far too thin.
