A sleepless queen laid still on her silk bed
A hushed whisper of an elf placed his spell
The night before the virgin queen would wed
She'd conceive in her womb a princess belle
Young Amera arrived as was foretold
Three pixies bestowed one gift to her each
One gave wisdom, one beauty, and one gold
She grew talented in both word and speech
Beauty inside and out were her acclaim
A prodigy she was, a gift to men
Envy of her cast dark shadows of shame
In words, she would find her refuge to mend.
A poetic princess of verse now is her fame
To those she loves, Amera is her name
Author notes
In your place of refuge and rest, in your alternate life of fantasy, you have gifted the world with words, Amera.

Oh my! The sonnet is my favorite form and for you to pen this for me has me humbled indeed. You took my love for fairy tales and elves and composed a real masterpiece. I’m putting this in my treasure room to keep it for all time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love,
Amera♥
