Most worthy of all praise
Have Mercy on me
***
Lord,
Break my will
Bend my knees
Close my eyes
and I
as a blind man sees
will walk into Eternity
In every thought
A sweet surrender
And in imitation
of Thine Immolation
Crown my head with thorns
Let me sing among Thy court
On the steps of Paradise
With Thy saints and soldiers
"We have no King but Christ"
Author notes
Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain to recieve power, and divinity, and wisdom, and strenth, and honor. To Him belong glory and dominion forever and ever.

This poem couldn't get any better. It was awesome! I like that part "as a blind man sees will walk into eternity". And the ending was perfect! So, I like the first and last stanza, and everything in between. Great write. Keep it up! You have 2 more feast days coming up to write a poem on!

I wasn't expecting a religious poem, and don't read them by choice. However, this was well-crafted, with a good flow; your emotional feeling comes through strongly, and from the comments below, you have obviously touched the hearts of many of your readers. And after all, isn't that what poetry is all about?

Strong
It's even better when I read it out loud. I need more friends like you. . .that was my first thought. Well that how I need to improve on some things and why don't I have the fervor to write one like that. . .
I love the strength and no non-senseness that you initiate the poem with. You tried to sneak this one by me, but I saw it!
one of my favorite parts is "every thought a sweet surrender" and of course "We have no King but Christ"

A very passionate piece of writing. I would love to read something less formal that would really show how you feel, in totally your own words, about Him who you love so much. I share your love for Him so I like to think we can talk to him as the Father He is as well as the great God that he is also.

Hugs and God Bless

Wow, this is a really beautiful poem!! It showcases our relationship to Christ so well and what He should mean to each and every one of us. It reads so easily, and it could be a prayer to be recited at any point of our journey...very inspirational and an excellent reminder of where He stands...where we need to stand. You rock.

Beautiful. It seems rare in these days to find people who are open and proud of their religion, and who can express it so well. It touches me and I will remember it.

Beautiful poem. I really love this. As a Christian, i was so moved by this. This is such a beautiful prayer itself. For there is no king, but CHRIST, and only him. I love the lines:
"And in imitation
of Thine Immolation
Crown my head with thorns."
These lines are so powerful. For there are times we it seems we cannot reach to him for help, but he is always there for us, helping us, and guiding us. These piece speaks nothing but truth, and you have done a wonderful job with it. Excellent job!

I like this, great flow, amazing rhyme, beautiful message.
Keep up the good work, I love religious poems.
Thank you so much for sharing. -
Very well done
A rather unusual write for you. I think it is well written, however, since I'm not a christian, I can't agree with your basic premise. -
i read it the first time, and felt so moved... the second time i read it aloud as a prayer, as i know it was meant to be.
the first three lines are such a beautiful prayer in itself... i call on His mercy alot... i need to.
then the harder part... breaking of my will. WOW... this past year, i have learned alot about that, and it still isn't easy to offer my will to be His, but i do my best... im pretty stubborn, though, and He is doing His best to break me so i may taste the sweetness of surrendering... *sigh* i have a long way to go, im afraid...
i pray to one day sing with the saints and soldiers... with tears in my eyes that i can even be on a step in that court.
i really liked the last line... 'we have no King but Christ'.... it reminds me how during the passion of the opposite being yelled, and how we have no king but caesar is changed to be glorious and Truth... for... there is no other King than Christ.
really... this is beautiful and SO filled with love for Him... just... i dont know... *sigh* worthy indeed...
