A Letter

My Dearest Jack,
Do you know how much I love you?
I miss you so much.
If only you could see.
You mean everything to me.
Shadows pale and twisted.
No light to give that one sparkle.
The sparkle I love in you eyes.
The sparkle I hate on your knife.
Why didn’t you cut me open instead?
You may as well have.
Are you breathing?
Must I watch you every second?
Can I still love?
After my heart has been ripped to shreds
By the knife and the shadows and the blood,
Can I still love?
I love you, Jack.
You’re not crazy, I am.
You’re not dying, I am.
Are you breathing?
Am I breathing?
Do you love me, Jack?
Make my heart smile.
Rip a hole with your knife,
Add a sparkle of bittersweet.
Kiss me in the darkness.
Shadows pale and twisted.
Breathe Jack.
You’re not crazy.
Light, and all is still.
I love you.
