Left high and dry in this desert hell
Throat is parched no water in the well
Desert wind is blowing and cuts me like a knife
Looking for redemption and a little water of life
Been left hanging in the breeze once again
Begging for forgiveness and a little rain
Feel this ache inside that cuts like a knife
Send me to the river for some water of life
Hear that water running so deep under me
So hot here in the desert that I cannot see
Just can't wait forever 'til that water comes
Left here high and dry out in the desert sun
See them buzzards circling way up overhead
Feeling lost and lonely, I've been left for dead
Got to get to water before I'm overcome
My bones all bleached and white in noon day sun
I once had a woman she was my one and all
But that was long ago before I had my fall
Once the waters flowed so fast and free
But that was way before the devil came after me
Water of life, water of life
Flows so swift and fast,
And cuts just like a knife
Water of life, bring it back to me
Let me taste the water, and set me free...

I like this a lot. Since I live in the desert I am accustomes to the heat and death and the birds of prey that do their job so effeciently. nice imagery ... I feel the thirst.

Beautiful write. And havent we all felt this way before. I love the repetitive lines

little water of life'
and i think you could have done alot more with those in the long run, but really when it comes down to it, this is perfect. Again amazing write and good luck to you.
