Butterfly wings outspread,
Sheltering friend bee;
Conversing with flower’s
Blooming little petals -
Thus stood they,
Inhabitants of nature.
Swaying blades demanded,
“Former caterpillar, say,
Why do you
Shelter bee from
The strong gale?
Sun gazed down,
Blazing these words,
“Plump with honey,
Why do you
Always come unfailing
To relieve bloom
From her pollen?
Staring leaves inquired
“Floral stem burdened,
Bearing such weight,
Why do you
Hold these heavy
Insects counted two?”
Answering in simple
Unity - fluttering wings,
Pollinating sting and
Loyal blossom spoke:
“We three being
The closest friends,
Why shouldn’t we
Carry the load
Of another’s need,
That we can
Draw together closely?
Is it not
The essence of
A friendship growing
To give, and
To share and
To love sacrificially?

A bit rough...I wrote it in about 30min, and had sporadic inspiration that just chopped in, here and there....

Oh this is just beautiful. You used the picture so well as a metaphor for friendship and it is all so true. We are all interdependent on each other for so many things.
I love this write. All the best with it, though I doubt you'll need it

Oh I Do Love Your Writes!

I am so glad you love them...though I must say, oftentimes, especially when I really like them too, I feel as if I cannot take credit for them, because I honestly don't know where they come from. Do you ever look at something you wrote, and wonder where it came from, and how it came from you? I mean...I wish that whatever it is that creates some of these pieces that I hold so dear, could be pinpointed, tunneled, and directed towards other branches of my life....

I think it is lovely, I was wondering if anyone would do a poem on friendship, It was one of my thoughts while looking at the picture. You may want to check the spelling of your title. Just a suggestion.
The essence of
A friendship growing
To give, and
To share and
To love sacrificially?
Very nice.
