The Titanic Choice

Missing image

The sinkable

they sailed from Southampton
with much pomp and glee
to cross the Atlantic Sea

in wanton joy some partook
amidst reports in ship’s logbook
while the Captain heeded no sign

the Unsinkable now lies
two miles deep on Atlantic bed

The unsinkable

they sailed from Capernaum
without pomp and glee
to cross the Sea of Galilee

with rise of wind fear drew their cries
waking their Master to save their lives
He rebuked the wind and calmed the sea

the Unsinkable now sits
on Heaven's throne

Passengers

from this we should learn

that warnings are signs

never to be ignored

always to remember

no mocking to make

as humility is greater

technology serves man

but security lies in the Captain

of our first choice

    Love it!

Oh Frans, this is so precious, insightful & creative! Your comparisons are so erudite & intense! There's no Captain like The Savior & your poem makes that so clear for those who have eyes to see. Love the way you end this up. I know Who your first choice is!

    Remembering John Harper

He was a minister that gave up his life to save one when the ship that man doomed on her maiden voyage...NOT EVEN GOD COULD SINK HER. I like the message of mocking, what man can destroy by his words and God is first and can give and take a way...loved it of course.

    This is absolutly amazing Frans,
i loved it! the title caught my attenion because i live in Belfast.
I love how you went about to tell the fate, i love the contrast of the two captains, but in life the latter captain is the only one for me to set sail with.
Brilliant how you wove the gospel into the fate of the titanic.
