Footprints in the Sand

We walked for miles
Up and down that beach
I memorized the wave patterns from seeing them so many times in that one afternoon
We just had so much to talk about
It was our first date
And I was very nervous
If he was too, he sure didn't show it
We just kept walking with our hands grasping tight
We walked until the people on the beach started leaving.
We walked until the lovers left the beach
We ourselves didn't leave until dawn
It wasn't the first time I saw the sun coming up on the beach,
But it was certainly the most beautiful time
I already loved him, no matter what my sister told me
She would tell me every night after I came back
"You think you love him because it was a romantic first date, but that love will end"
I never did believe her
Do you want to know why?
Because ten years later we got married and had three lovely children
Your mother, and your two uncles
And that's why I believe in love
And if I ever go back to that beach,
I'm sure I will still feel our footprints in the sand

Please put your option no. and name in AN. I feel that you can easily write poetry with stories in them, but you gotta improve the flow so readers can kinda read better, cos it didn't read very well to me, it could've been better On the other hand, its great that you can write about feelings, a story through poems Anyways, thanks for entering and good luck
