..Footprints In The Sand..

Look back on the days we spent together,
remember when we used to talk for hours about nothing,
but never running out of things to say,
remember walking on the beach,
and making footprints side by side,
and watching them slowly fade away with the rushing of the tide?
How were we supposed to know that our love would fade along with our footprints?
How could we believe that we weren't meant to be?
When your name faded from my heart I wanted to scream,
my hearts held together with safety pins and dreams,
wishes and hopes that you might cut me some slack,
but im pathetic, trying to hold on to something that's never coming back,
trying to fight through the pain,
and see through the tears,
I guess I was right,
to believe my "irratioanl" fears,
Because I knew it would happen,
that you would just leave,
so now I wear my heart,
taped onto my sleeve,
not that you'll look back,
or that any of it mattered,
but how many times will you break me,
before I finally shatter??

There's a difference between love,
and just holding a hand,
you might have forgotten me,
but not our footprints in the sand...

    I think this was beautiful and it makes me feel the way you put this, it tells a good story and how you feel about this, those sweet memories that left behind now seem to be footprints in the sand
