Peace

Where's the peace within the hearts
Of humans 'round the world?
It rests unused off to the side,
Lonely and unheard.

Who is that lonely peace who waits,
So patient, loving, kind?
For all time He has been there
Undiscovered, kept inside.

When will our hearts be opened up
So He can fill our lives?
We hide Him, fearful of how we'll
Be judged by hateful eyes.

Why does He wait for us to choose
To show Him to our friends?
It would be faster just to make
The world come to an end.

What is His plan, that He delays
The fate He has set out?
Indeed, we're lost within ourselves,
Alone among the crowds.

Yet even though we dwell in sin,
He loves us; we are His--
And though we doubt and hurt Him so,
He helps us and forgives.

So why does He, the mighty one,
Just watch us make mistakes?
He wishes us to follow Him,
Our peace to now awake!

A question that has been with us for centuries is rekindled in the heart and minds of every person of faith;when will the world truly see Peace?
Well written and straight from the heart..

    Amen

Awesome and oh so true .We are all taught right from wrong and so often chooose to go our own way and when things go bad we tend to want to blame others for our fate . The day we see we are the ones directing our own souls when we go off the path . Is the day we reach out and ask for forgivness and once we do this the world becomes a joyous place and the pain all goes away

Yes, wonderful flow. The structure of each stanza works very well. And the sentiment expressed is well worth the read.

    Yes, it Does!

Oh, so lovely! (I know, I say that to just about everyone's poems) but this is truthfully lovely! Please add it to the group reading list when you get the chance for others to read it.

    Love It!

Ah it's so reminiscent of the number of times I've done a little introspection like this. It flows well, and it's so simple yet so brilliant. Well done!
