Jesus... I wish I'd been there
That day you gave your life.
To relieve you of your burdens
The way you've eased my pain and strife
Father I stood on thorns one day
And now it makes me cry
Cause Lord they pressed them to your head
to save us from the lie
My awesome God and father
There're none as great as you
For none could love yet die the death
That mankind put you through
My Lord I've seen creations,
of art and science too
But all are imitations
Of the first ones made by you
So I thank you God for striving
To save us all from sin
And for watching over each of us
You our Father, King of Kings!
Author notes
There's so much more I could say
But that would take eternity

Good!
your forth stanza is a fine piece of work. I am not a Christian, so don't share the spiritual feelings of the poem, but greatly admire your skill with the language.

He gave it all
That is what I feel here, he is acquaintd with our suffering and sorrow for what He did on the cross, but the crown he wore was a prelude of what he was to carry that only our minds could fathom, loved this capture of Jesus dying for us, you're right so much more could be said...and reminded of.
