Leaves fall like feathers,
leaving branches bare,
to cover summers earth,
in it’s blanket of care.
Cycles of the seasons,
changing before my eyes,
cool fresh winds blow,
crystal clear blue skies.
Creatures prepare with sense,
the songbirds head on south,
the beauty leaves me speechless,
standing with open mouth.
Thanksgiving here in Canada,
time of the harvest moon,
that shines so big and bright,
I hope you come back soon.
Weathered hands and faces,
have reaped what they have sown,
in this time of such glory,
a time that I shall always own.

Leaves falling like feathers as songbirds wing south. Such a wistful time of year! Thank you for this gentle tribute to the Canadian October and Thanksgiving... I hope you have/had a very nice one this year.
