Nothing was what I stared at, giving me no complaint,
the emptiness around me had threatened to suffocate.
Reaching forward rather blindly for my face,
I was in no danger, for nothing could I taste.
Nothing is what I fear, and what I fear is nothing,
The whole twilit area gave comfort to my being.
For nothing is what I see, and it being rather shy,
the entire concept of nothing is little more than a lie.
And to you, I speak only but the truth, my sight of this nothing, child,
It means I see nothing, feel nothing, taste nothing, sense nothing of what used to be wild.
